London is a city known for its nightlife, and for good reason. Make the most of it and host your next event in one of our favourite party spots
1. Café de Paris
, W1D, up to 715 guests
The oldest nightclub in our list, Café de Paris still exudes 1920s glamour with opulent, Moulin Rouge-style interiors. For grand events, opt for exclusive hire of the Ballroom where you’ll find a sweeping staircase and a statement chandelier. VIP-dining options at its speciality weekend cabaret nights are best for smaller groups.
2. Tropicana Beach Club
, WC2B , up to 600 guests
Now on to the newest: Tropicana Beach Club joined the private-hire market earlier this year, and provides guests with the most tropical experience this side of the Caribbean. Expect 30ft palm trees and beach-barbecue catering options. Semi-private hire options include the Tropicana Lagoon Bar for 200 and Rum Reef Bay for 120 with a private beach walk leading straight to the dance floor.
3. Raffles Chelsea
, SW3, up to 220 guests
As a prestigious private members club on the Kings Road, Raffles Chelsea has long had an elite clientele of aristocrats and celebrities. Non-members can get a glimpse inside at the plush, modern interiors at private and corporate events in the main space, as well as in the smaller Dom Perignon room for 60 standing. With a late licence until 5am, the party can really go deep into the night here.
4. Barrio Shoreditch
, E1, up to 360 guests
Barrio Bars has built up a solid reputation of providing fun and funky venues for event bookers, and the Shoreditch flagship is no exception. A bright, colourful cantina with four hireable areas, this Barrio is open until 2am Thursday-Saturday. If you’d prefer something a bit earlier, the venue is easily adapted to daytime events too with three screening areas and all the kit in place for live music and projections.
5. Bar Soho
, W1D, up to 60 guests
Bar Soho is not ashamed to play up to the saucy history of its home patch, with quirky decor and a fun-loving atmosphere. All of the private spaces at this Late Night London venue are amusingly done out: in the Bathroom, enamel bathtubs serve as sofas and toilet seats masquerade as tables, while The Waltzers in the bar area includes a carousel horse. Drinks are just as eccentric with off-the-wall cocktails and a lengthy fizz list.
