IHG unveils plans for first InterContinental Manchester hotel and events space

Manchester’s hospitality landscape is poised for a major transformation as IHG Hotels & Resorts announces the arrival of the InterContinental Manchester - Deansgate. Set within the city’s iconic Beetham Tower, the 47-story skyscraper, a defining feature of Manchester’s skyline, will see the current Hilton hotel transition to the InterContinental brand by 2027. In the meantime, the property (owned by Blue Manchester Hotel Limited) will remain in operation.

InterContinental Manchester - Deansgate will occupy 22 floors, offering 264 modern guestrooms designed to deliver panoramic views across the city. The refurbishment will also include a large ground-floor ‘podium’ bar and restaurant, as well as a comprehensive suite of wellness amenities, including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and fitness centre. InterContinental’s Manchester debut also brings a total of 1,821 square metres of event space spread across 18 meeting rooms and venues catering to social events in addition to conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows.
