East London caterers Boulevard Events have been unveiled as the new catering partner for the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
The ArcelorMittal Orbit is a piece of ‘interactive art’, which can be found at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. The venue features two observation platforms for guests to enjoy, which boast skyline views of up to 20 miles. However, it’s most famous for the slide which runs along the outside of the structure, and which is the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide.
The ArcelorMittal Orbit is available to hire for meetings and receptions, as well as exclusive dining experiences and even weddings. If you’re hosting an event here, your guests will be transported 80m into the clouds, where they can enjoy their pick of food from Hackney Wick based Fairtrade caterers, Boulevard Events. A family-run affair for over 30 years, Boulevard Events can provide all sorts of catering, from elegant canapés to a three-course meal, or even interactive food stations.
Mark Maher, Events Director, Boulevard Events said: “We are overjoyed to be the official catering partner of an exciting and iconic venue like the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Each time we cater at the venue it feels special and it’s incredible to be part of the London legacy vision. All these years on and London 2012 is still providing opportunities for local businesses”.
The idea for The ArcelorMittal Orbit came about in 2009, when former London Mayor Boris Johnson launched a competition to design a sculpture for the Olympic Park. The competition was was won by Sir Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond with a design of a continually looping red steel tower. In 2014, it was announced that Belgian artist Carsten Höller would design a slide to be added to the original sculpture.
If you can’t get enough of London’s skyline, cast your eye over these venues with a view.
