Gordon Ramsay to revive Hell's Kitchen UK with an ITV reboot and new restaurants

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to make a high-profile return to UK television with a reboot of his iconic cooking competition show, Hell's Kitchen. The series, known for its intense kitchen challenges and Ramsay's fiery critiques, aired in the UK in 2004 with Ramsay fronting the first UK series, before handing over to Gary Rhodes, Jean-Christophe Novelli, and Marco Pierre White.

The original 2004 UK series featured celebrity contestants and was marked by Ramsay's memorable interactions, including a notable confrontation with actress Amanda Barrie. The US version, meanwhile, premiered in 2005 and over the course of 23 series, has risen to become a global sensation, thanks to various high-pressure moments that took the internet by storm. Now, Ramsay plans to share that heat with ITV once again.

In addition to the television revival, Ramsay has trademarked the Hell's Kitchen brand in the UK, signalling plans to open themed restaurants soon after the show airs. Any restaurants would be expected to mirror his US locations, which have become popular dining destinations in cities like Las Vegas, Miami, and Washington. While little is known so far, any new restaurants would further diversify Ramsay's UK portfolio, which includes Michelin-starred Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay, three-star Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, plus more affordable multi-site Lucky Cat and Bread Street Kitchen restaurants.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Fans of the show will be doubly thrilled by the prospect of the competition coming back and being able to dine in a Hell’s Kitchen restaurant over here.

‘Business-savvy Gordon has watched as the popularity of Hell’s Kitchen in the US has helped bring in thousands of customers to his restaurants.

‘The programme is broadcast in more than 100 countries around the world so between tourists visiting Britain and developing a whole new audience for the telly contest in the UK, it’s an incredibly smart move on his part.’

As the launch date approaches, fans can anticipate more details about the show's format, contestant lineup, and restaurant locations. With Ramsay at the helm, the Hell's Kitchen reboot is poised to rekindle the fiery passion that made the original series a hit.
