It’s time to put on those clothes that you don’t really mind throwing away, as things are about to get smoky. National BBQ Week (29 May-4 June) is just around the corner and London’s restaurant scene is all fired-up, producing more flame-grilled food than you can shake a grill at. Read below for some red-hot inspiration this BBQ Week.

What: Atul Kochhar’s Indian may not be known for its barbecue offering, but that’s about to change. As part of BBQ week, it’s dishing up a five-course sharing menu of tasty treats. Dishes to look out for include tandoori chicken crispy naan, and BBQ lamb kofta roll with a mint and coriander salad (pictured).

Big Easy Canary Wharf, Chelsea and Covent Garden
What: If giant helpings of barbecued meat are your bag, Big Easy is more than worth a visit. With three sites in the capital, this meat temple serves up smoking dishes including dry-rubbed pork ribs, pit-smoked barbecue chicken wings with ranch dressing and deep-fried shrimp with a blue-cheese dipping sauce – you might want to loosen your belt first though.

What: This enclave of Thames-side restaurants from D&D London is going all out for the celebrations. Each of the four restaurants will make full use of their alfresco terrace, by offering a barbecue menu from 12-3pm and 6-8pm all week. You can expect to feast on the likes of Moroccan-spiced lamb chops and whole-grilled Dover sole with béarnaise sauce.

Bó Drake, Soho
What: Bó Drake has Soho’s BBQ lovers covered with its new sharing tray, a Sunday feast for two piled high with smoked and grilled meats. Made to share, the tray features miso-glazed baby back ribs, chorizo sausage with honey sauce, smoked pulled pork, and sweet potato fries.

What: If you’re not looking to go the whole hog, why not try out a DIY mini-barbecue. Mayfair restaurant Sakagura has launched a Yakiniku menu, which allows guests to cook their own meats, such as wagyu sirloin, short-rib and Goosnargh chicken thigh on a mini-barbecue…just watch out for toasted fingertips.

What: Zuma is offering three separate dishes, all from the restaurant’s robata grill. The collection includes chicken wings with sake, sea salt and lime, jumbo tiger prawn with yuzu pepper (pictured) and rib-eye steak with wafu sauce and garlic crisps.
