What: You can't go wrong with a festive celebration at Gaucho, where sleek interiors combine with crowd-pleasing menus at an affordable price point. Last year's fantastic feast started with the likes of cheesy truffle empanadas and cured smoked salmon with sourdough, followed by rump and chips with truffle butter. Dessert eschewed Christmas pud in favour of Gaucho's signature dulce de leche cheesecake or sticky toffee pudding. Expect more of the same luxury festive dining in 2026.

Browns Leeds

What: Set within a beautifully restored former banking hall, Browns serves a full suite of festive menus this year, including a Festive Menu, Christmas Day Menu, Boxing Day Menu, New Year's Eve Menu and a gluten-free option. Expect oak-smoked salmon, duck liver parfait or butternut squash and sage soup to start, followed by traditional roast turkey, braised blade of beef or a root vegetable nut roast. A classic Christmas pudding with brandy custard is the perfect finale, all against the venue's art deco brasserie backdrop.

Tharavadu

What: One of Leeds’ most highly rated Keralan restaurants, Tharavadu has earned reams of praise for its warm hospitality and genuinely delicious, soul-warming food. Last year's Christmas Festive Fare ran from 1 November to 23 December, available as two or four courses for lunch and dinner. Expect chilli paneer and Meen Chuttathu to start, followed by pothu beef curry, mutter paneer or the signature seafood curry, served with masala potatoes, lemon rice and paratha. Stuzzi Leeds

What: Stuzzi's December menu brings a festive spin to its signature stuzzichini-style sharing plates. Classic antipasti of olives, focaccia and an Italian cheese and salami platter set the scene, before seasonal plates designed for the table: sprout and marjoram arancino, mortadella arrosticini with 'nduja and apricot glaze, and buffalo mozzarella with marsala mulled prunes. Heartier options include hay-baked pork shank with leek, chestnut and cider jus, and rigatoni with sausage, pancetta and sage and onion crumb, all for a very reasonable £49.50 per person.

Kerala Canteen

What: Leeds certainly does a decent trade in fantastic Indian restaurants, and Kerala Canteen is another to add to the list. This buzzy South Indian spot in the city centre pays homage to the cuisine of Kerala – you might have guessed – in a welcoming setting that works just as well for an office party as a family get together or a meal with friends. Last year's festive menu, priced under £35 a head, included a welcome glass of Prosecco, Kerala Canteen's signature Sulaimani tea, a tapas plate, a curry bowl with a side, and a festive dessert, with the slow-braised T-bone steak proving to be particularly special. A 2026 festive menu hadn't been published at the time of writing, but we're hoping for more of the same.

Uyare by Tharavadu

What: Brought to you by the same team behind much-loved Tharavadu, Uyare is a refined rooftop restaurant specialising in South Indian cuisine, with panoramic views of Leeds city centre. Last year's Christmas menus were available as two or four courses, beginning with a sharing platter of masala cauliflower, kathari chicken and fried fish, followed by a choice of main with sides including masala potatoes and Kerala paratha, and mango kulfi or coconut pudding to finish. Sky Lounge Leeds

What: Thirteen floors above the city, Sky Lounge makes for a spectacular Christmas party spot, with panoramic views over Leeds. Last year's Christmas package offered a three-course menu from £47 per person, including a glass of Prosecco on arrival, with the option to add arrival canapés from £11.95 per person. What: Dishoom's Bombay-inspired newcomer on Vicar Lane joins the group's citywide Christmas tradition this year. Across its cafés, Dishoom serves a shared Christmas feast for groups of four or more, built around thaals piled high with small plates, grills, biryani and the signature 24-hour House Black Daal, plus a whole Turkey Raan cooked low and slow in the traditional style. Mince Pie Kulfi is a genius festive fusion dessert too, with vegetarian and vegan feasts also available for the table.

The Swine Bistro

What: This Headingley neighbourhood favourite skips tradition in favour of hearty, ingredient-led seasonal cooking. Last year's Winter menu ran from mid-November through December and champion chef Stu Myers' love of ‘big roasts, pies, sausages and puddings to die for, with no turkey in sight’ delivered house sausage with stewed winter fruits, Jerusalem artichoke pithivier and British beef daube. A neighbourhood spot with a national reputation, expect The Swine Bistro to be packed this Christmas.

Cinnamon Kitchen Leeds

What: Vivek Singh's acclaimed Cinnamon Kitchen (also in London's Battersea and City) brought together vibrant Indian flavours with the best of Yorkshire's seasonal produce for its 2025 festive group dining menus, spanning refined three-coursers to fun sharing feasts. Dishes from the set three-courser included masala grilled salmon with pea chutney, lamb keema saag with yoghurt sauce, and garam masala crème brûlée to finish. A 2026 festive menu hasn't been released yet but watch this space.

CrowdedHouse

What: Plan a stylish affair with loved ones at modern British bistro CrowdedHouse. From plush velvet banquettes to an expansive roof terrace with views across Leeds, this glamorous spot dishes up Christmas celebrations with style and substance. Tattu Leeds

What: On the hunt for a festive menu that forgoes tradition for something a bit different? High-end Chinese spot Tattu transformed its iconic pink cherry blossom trees into an icy blue 'Azure Winter Dragon' theme for its 2025 festive takeover (3 November – 30 December), offering three sharing-style menus in waves. The Emperor's Choice began with a mixed dim sum platter of Wagyu beef, lobster and Royal Koi Gau, moved through salt-grilled Japanese Black Wagyu, and finished with a White Chocolate Bauble dessert. A 2026 festive theme and menu hasn't been confirmed yet, but we'll update here when it has.
