About

Tucked away in the heart of the city centre, Dishoom Leeds brings the same delicious menus and Bombay-inspired cafes as the rest of its sites. Open all day, it’s the perfect spot for those looking for comfort food, whether you’re visiting for one of the bacon naan rolls for breakfast or heading in for a classic black daal in the evening.

The space itself is a striking blend of old-world charm and modern touches, with a nod to the design of Bombay’s Irani cafés. The interiors bring a vintage feel, with terracotta and deep teal walls, alongside a collection of mahogany furnishings and details. A variety of foliage brings the space to life, whilst an awning-covered terrace is ideal for those looking to dine al fresco.

The menus showcase plenty of the Dishoom classics, alongside a couple of signature dishes for the Leeds site, drawing inspiration from the diverse culinary traditions of Bombay. Start with a selection of small plates including crispy chilli chicken, vegetable samosas with tamarind chutney or the Dishoom house chaat packed full of sweet potato and covered with cool yoghurt, pomegranate and green chutney.

Mains span curries as well as several items from the grill, such as chicken tikka, masala prawns and sheekh lamb kebabs. Guests can also enjoy a Goan monkfish coconut curry, a mutton pepper fry or a chicken ruby curry with plenty of spice and flavour. Signature items include the famous black daal, slow-cooked for 24 hours, and a selection of house-made naan, which is freshly baked in the tandoor. The Leeds menu also features a chef’s special Malvani lamb curry, packed full of roasted coconut and pippali pepper, served with a golden laccha paratha and a sharp onion salad.

Those visiting earlier in the day can pop in for breakfast, and enjoy a bowl of date and banana porridge or a bacon naan roll, alongside a cup of chai.
