If there’s any time of year when you really want to make an impact, celebrate in style, and take in glistening views of the city, it’s at Christmastime. A Keralan restaurant with a refined edge, Uyare is a great spot for Christmas parties, armed with fantastic drinks, plenty of space, and a top floor Victoria Gate location. This is the same team from the award-winning Tharavadu, and they’re more than happy to tailor menus and set up according to your festive party vision.
There are several spaces to choose from, from intimate dinners in the 15-person private dining room to 50 on the covered all-weather rooftop terrace or a big party with 200 across the restaurant as a whole. The space has been transformed to reflect Uyare’s elevated South Indian menus, featuring marble tables, cool blues and warm copper tones.
You can’t have Christmas without some proper food, and while turkey and roasts are all well and good, there’s every chance you fancy something a bit more unusual this year. Fortunately, Christmas parties at Uyare come with a lineup of flavour-forward dishes to warm you through. The menu kicks off with signature bites like chemmeen porichathu (spiced king prawns with a carrot and lemon chutney) and tender slow-cooked pork with coconut and curry leaves along with masala fried cauliflower with a sweet and tangy tomato sauce.
Larger dishes, meanwhile, offer up the likes of nadan kozhi curry with roasted coconut, cashew nuts, and poppy seeds; meen chatti fish curry with coconut milk and aromatics; and marinated grilled sea bass stuffed with spiced coconut shrimp. Christmas parties at Uyare also offer a fine selection of cocktails from the Agni bar and a wine list that includes acclaimed Spanish whites and full-bodied French reds to match the bold aromatics on the menu.
