Minutes from the City, Clerkenwell is loaded with restaurants that feature great private dining rooms. It’s a top spot, then, for breakfast meetings, working lunches and entertaining clients over dinner. Here are a few of our faves…

6. Smiths of Smithfield, EC1

Blasted brick walls and post-industrial furnishings gives the restaurant’s two first-floor dining rooms a New York vibe. Located opposite Smithfield Market, it does a roaring trade in flesh, too.

Capacity 40
Choose this elegant townhouse’s Foundry Room for intimate get-togethers or combine its North and South dining rooms for a larger gathering of up to 60 guests.
