Eric Chavot returns to London dining scene

eric chavot - The_Capital_-_Eric_Chavot.jpgFrench chef Eric Chavot, best known for his success as head chef at Knightsbridge’s The Capital restaurant, will return to the UK in January 2013 with a new restaurant called Brasserie Chavot.

The Bordeaux-born chef trained under luminaries including Pierre Koffmann at La Tante Claire, Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Nico Ladenis at Chez Nico and Marco Pierre White, with whom he set up Fitzrovia restaurant Interlude de Chavot in 1995.

He became head chef at The Capital in 1999 and won the restaurant two Michelin stars almost immediately, maintaining them until his departure in 2009. Since then he has worked at prestigious private club the Windsor Club, in Florida.

The new venture, which will be located on Conduit Street in Mayfair, will see the chef return with a casual brasserie serving a mixture of contemporary and classic French dishes.
