Taking your baby, toddler or ten-year-old to brunch, lunch, or dinner has always meant packing snacks and lowering expectations. From 7 September, Drake & Morgan is looking to change that: rolling out its first children's menu across all 15 London sites, including The Anthologist, Drake & Morgan Kings Cross, and The Folly, to name a few. Dishes on the kids' menu are designed in partnership with Annabel Karmel MBE, the cookbook author and baby food expert, who’s shaped how the UK feeds its kids for over 30 years.
A first for the group
It’s a new move for Drake & Morgan, whose brunches, summer terraces and pre-theatre offering have always skewed towards a grown-up crowd. And it’s not just a handful of mains, either; the menu is built to cater to all age groups.
What’s on the kids menu:
- 6+ months: Annabel’s signature purees, including pear, apple and strawberry; and salmon and sweet potato.
- Toddlers and older children (up to 12): Brunch dishes such as French toast fingers with caramelised bananas and berries, Nutella and banana crepes or mains like glazed chicken bites with rice or vegetable Bolognese.
Karmel’s approach

Karmel, whose recipes and books have shaped UK family mealtimes since the 1990s, says the goal is to make the food appealing enough that parents won’t have to negotiate with their kids.
‘When Drake & Morgan asked me to design their new children's menu, my goal was simple: every dish had to be delicious, packed with goodness, and something children would be excited to eat. We've got everything from first weaning purées right through to a bolognese with hidden veg your kids will never spot.’
A family day out
With Drake & Morgan restaurants and bars already serving throngs of theatre crowds, day trippers, and groups looking for a good atmosphere and unfussy dining, the kids menu seems like a natural fit. Whether it’s brunch at The Refinery Regent’s Place before a West End matinee, weekend lunch by the canal at Drake & Morgan Kings Cross, or a sightseeing break at The Happenstance by St Paul’s, ensuring the kids get healthy meals out just got a whole lot easier.
