With so much to see and do along the south side of the River Thames, it’s no wonder that both Southbank and Borough have fast become hotspots for both entertainment and dining in London. A hub for the arts, the Southbank centre which includes the Royal Festival Hall and the Hayward Gallery, attracts performers and artists from around the world whilst the BFI and the National Theatre are both iconic within the film and theatre industry. The London Eye and the London Aquarium ensure visitors flock in their millions to the Southbank whilst the street artists keep everyone entertained. Restaurant choices are superb in the area and riverside dining is at its best here. Just a short walk down the south embankment is Borough, where the one of the biggest and best food markets in London is found as well as The Shard, London’s tallest building. With a great deal of superb restaurants opening up in this area of late, it seems that Borough has fast become the destination “du jour” for food lovers everywhere.
