La Tasca is a lively, unpretentious Spanish restaurant in the heart of Liverpool. La Tasca’s interior is decorated with large prints of contemporary Spanish figures, miniature olive trees, and colourful furniture. The seating is informal and spacious. There is also a large outdoor seating area, which overlooks Queen’s Square, perfect for sunny summer days. If you’re fancying Spanish food in the morning, La Tasca is now offering bottomless brunch at the weekend between 11am-2.30pm. Diners can choose any three tapas dishes from the menu of the day, with bottomless Sangria or a house red or white wine for two hours.
La Tasca’s main menu features a wide ranging collection of tapas dishes, including everything from fresh fish and seafood to regional cured meats and cheeses as well as La Tasca’s trademark range of paellas. The paellas are designed to be shared between two people, and so need to be ordered in an even number. Each one is cooked to order, so diners will have to wait around 25 minutes for the dish to be ready - a great time to try out some of La Tasca’s tapas.
For seafood tapas options, the restaurant offers Galician octopus with new potatoes and olive oil, a selection of battered seafood and fish, as well as the ever-popular gambas al ajillo, or garlic prawns. La Tasca’s also offers a particularly wide range of slow cooked Iberian pork. Pork shoulder is served with guindilla peppers and garlicky potatoes, and pork belly with mojo verde. Since the tapas and paella are designed for sharing, La Tasca is a particularly great place to come with friends and perhaps try out a few new dishes. From 12-6pm on weekdays, La Tasca also runs a deal where three tapas cost just £18, perfect for a relaxed late Spanish-style lunch.
