Sakura? Bless you. It’s actually Japanese for cherry blossom (but of course you knew that), which is in full bloom in Japan from March to May. They go a bit mad for it over there, while here in London it means extra-special Japanese food and cocktails, hurrah.

What: Expect a big blossom display at the bar, cherry blossom tea, macarons and a special bento box containing miso soup, sushi and Hamachi Yellowtail and Akami Bluefin tuna sashimi.

Sakura at the Shochu Lounge, Fitzrovia 

When: Throughout April
What: Focusing on Sakura libations, Roka Charlotte Street’s basement bar has teamed up with Suntory Japanese whisky on its Sakura cocktails, all made using its Hibiki Japanese Harmony blend.  We’ll be chugging the Happo Harmony, which includes rhubarb and ginger syrup, soda water and sprayed lemon flower essence.
