You know how at traditional wine dinners, it's the sommelier's job to find a wine that perfectly matches the chef's dishes? Well, this year, Mayfair restaurant Galvin at Windows will turn that philosophy on its head, with four wine dinners where the wines are the true stars.
And what wines they are. Each dinner will centre around a selection of wines from a specific producer, including Champagne houses Louis Roederer and Taittinger, Burgundy vineyard Domaine Faiveley, and Second Growth Bordeaux wine producer Pichon Longueville.
The winemakers themselves will attend the dinners, talking diners through the wines and answering questions about their production. Meanwhile, guests can tuck into a four-course meal, with dishes prepared by Galvin's chef Joo Won to bring out the full potential of each wine - and, of course, take in Galvin at Window's fabulous views.
This monthly event kicks off with a Taittinger wine dinner on 12 May (£125), followed by Domaine Faiveley on 2 June (£125), Pichon Longueville on 7 July (£125) and Louis Roederer on 23 September (£150). Each event starts with a canapé reception. For more information or to book tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7208 4021.
