Back in 2001, two new restaurants opened their doors in the capital. Both won such widespread acclaim and offered such an exciting dining experience that 15 years later, they’re still going strong: The Providores is a casual venue serving dishes in Peter Gordon’s signature fusion style, while ground-breaking The Cinnamon Club, overseen by executive chef Vivek Singh, is Westminster fine dining at its best, offering a modern interpretation of Indian cuisine.
To celebrate, the chefs are hosting a joint birthday meal at each venue. The party started on 21 June at The Cinnamon Club and on Tuesday 18 October, it will be the turn of The Providores to host Vivek as guest chef. He’ll be cooking up samosa and kachori chaat with tamarind, mint and yoghurt dressing, while Peter will also contribute dishes, including grilled scallop with dashi tapioca, curry leaves, green mango and lime. There will also be a question and answer session with both chefs, where diners can quiz them on everything from menu choices to current restaurant trends.
The evening kicks off at 6.30pm on Tuesday 18 October and costs £127.09 per person, including six courses and a welcome cocktail. To find out more and book your place, visit eventbrite.co.uk.
