North Yorkshire castle hotel Swinton Park is offering four different summer food experiences, taking place on multiple
occasions over the coming months:
Simon Crannage Summer Selection
A lunchtime event with four themed menus that will run during the summer months, each with a focus on the fresh seasonal produce sourced from the hotel’s walled garden, surrounding estate and
Yorkshire countryside. The three-course lunch, created by head chef Simon Crannage, costs £24.50 per person. Themes and dates are as follows:
Asparagus and estate trout (17-29 May)
Spring lamb and garden greens (14-25 June)
Lemon sole and walled garden feast (16-27 August)
Venison and early-autumn vegetables (20-30 September)
Alfresco Barbecue Dining – 11 June, 23 July and 20 August
Taking place at the restored Deerhouse in the Parkland, an alfresco barbecue dinner, will be served to your table by a chef, with candlelight, a starlit sky and a blazing fire to work providing the
setting. The two-course meal costs £25 per person (bookings for tables of four or more).
Alfresco Food Festivals – 31 May and 12 September
Follow a culinary trail through the 200 acres of parkland and grounds at the hotel, and enjoy a tasting meal served to you at alfresco kitchens along the route. The menu focuses entirely on the
fresh seasonal produce grown in the grounds and surrounding countryside, and you can also take part in optional activities such as edible food tours in the woods; grow-your-own tours in the walled
garden; countryside demonstrations such as sheep shearing, stone walling and bee keeping; falconry displays and pony rides, and more.Tickets cost £10 per person (including the tasting meal) and the
event runs from 11am-4pm. Outdoor clothing is recommended.
