Soho's just-refurbished Quo Vadis is teaming up with Hackney neighbourhood restaurant Pidgin for the inaugural Soho Negroni championship on Wednesday 5 October. Taking place in the second-floor bar at Quo Vadis, bartenders from both restaurants will be competing against their counterparts at The Manor, Sardine, The Ritz, Merchant's Tavern, Hix and more to be crowned the first Soho Negroni champion.
Entrants will make two versions of their Negroni, judged by an accomplished panel including Christopher Hirst (former restaurant reviewer for The Independent) and Allan Jenkins (editor at Observer Food Monthly). The winner will receive a gargantuan, three-litre bottle of Campari, with prizes going to second and third place too.
The best bit? Mini samples will be passed around to all guests – now there’s an incentive.
The Soho Negroni Championship takes place on Wednesday 5 October at 7.30pm. Tickets are £35 and can be purchased by calling 020 3641 5837 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
