Whisky and beer are made from the same three basis ingredients – water, barley and yeast – and as such make perfect bedfellows. That’s why The Gallery, in West Hampstead, is hosting a whisky- and beer-tasting evening, where you can sample both a range of Jura whiskies and a selection of craft beers, unusual brews and wheat beers alongside four canapé courses – with experts in each field to guide you through the experience.
Each course has been designed to highlight and heighten the flavour profile of the whisky and beer it has been paired with – think scallops and rye-cured salmon paired with smokier whiskies, or cherries and dark chocolate paired with sweeter, more mellow styles.
The Whisky 101 will take place on Wednesday 14 October, from 7-9pm. Tickets cost £15, with 10% going to the Centre Point charity. To book your ticket, visit the Whisky 101 ticketing page.
