New projects are constantly brewing at the family-run luxury castle hotel Swinton Park in North Yorkshire. Its latest venture is to welcome the lively celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, as she
recently announced her plans to move her award-winning cookery school from Amhuinnsuidhe castle to Swinton Park. She has been called ‘the wizard of the new cookery school’ and is very much looking
forward to the re-location: ‘This is a great opportunity that can’t be missed, both in terms of the facilities and the abundance of good quality local produce available, but also because my guests
will now be able to enjoy all the luxuries of a first class hotel.’ The opening of the school, which will be housed in the 18th Century stable block that overlooks the castle and parkland, is set
to take place in June 2003, with the first class starting on the 8th. Guests on Rosemary’s courses are welcome to bring their partners, who are not charged for accommodation, only for food and
drink. Visitors who want to entertain, should sign up for the Rosemary Schrager Dinner Party, where she demonstrates and cooks with a group, who then host their own private dinner party with their
own invited guests.
