On 31 October, in celebration of the annual Ashdown Forest Fungi Day, Sussex hotel Ashdown Park is running a mushroom-foraging lunch at the hotel’s Anderida Restaurant. A local mushroom specialist
will lead a guided walk through the estate, sharing his knowledge of the various varieties. Guests will learn to identify their puffball from their ceps, and most importantly, the fungi which are
most toxic, before returning to the hotel for a mushroom-inspired lunch at The Anderida restaurant. Dishes will include mushroom tartlet with coriander, light mushroom and Norcia truffle mousse
with a rich mushroom consommé, followed by Cast Bridge grain-fed fillet of beef with wild mushroom and garden herb ravioli and Madeira jus. The event is priced at £42 per person, inclusive of
lunch. To book, call 01342 824988.
