What, you may ask, constitutes the ultimate fashionista’s drink? Well, in this case, it’s Piper-Heidsieck Champagne drunk out of a glass shoe. That’s right; through the Christmas period at Mews of Mayfair, Champagne lovers can reserve a table to enjoy Piper-Heidsieck from a shoe-shaped, Louboutin-designed
flute, featuring the French shoe designer’s famous red sole.
The crystal shoe celebrates the historic French tradition of ‘Le Rituel’, which involved a man drinking from a woman’s shoe. Each of the handmade flutes, cut in Slovenian crystal, is unique. Guests
can expect to pay £90 to enjoy a bottle of the Champagne from the glass shoe at Mews, or, for those truly enamoured by the design, a limited edition set featuring the flute and a bottle of
Piper-Heidsieck Brut Cuvée is available from Selfridges for £350.
