Have a sherry good time at The Sign of The Don
Autumn is a perfect time to enjoy sherry in all its forms - from a crisp glass of fino on a bright autumnal morning to a rounded, nutty palo cortado by the fire as Christmas approaches. And we all know that croquetas are irresistible at any time of year. So the fact that
is hosting a tutored sherry tasting this month, served with tray after tray of its celebrated croquetas, will be music to your ears.
The tasting, led by Martin Skelton of famed sherry distributor Gonzalez Byass, will include some fantastic sherries, including a glass of crisp, salty La Gitana Manzanilla (the ultimate Sanlucar sherry), two finos - one fresh and zingy from this year, the other a delicate 10-year-old fino with butterscotch notes - plus two aged palo cortados: the Leonor 12-year-old and the Apostoles 30-year-old.
After the tasting, guests are welcome to stay on for a three-course meal followed by a glass of sweet, figgy 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso, all for just £17.50 extra.
This event takes place on 13 October from 6-7.30pm. Tickets cost £22.50 for all food and drink.
