Long a restaurant hotspot, Fitzrovia is now celebrating its good fortune with the launch of The Fitzrovia Collective: a line-up of three super-chefs who practise their artistry in the district. The dynamic trio – Allan Pickett, Ben Tish and Jun Tanaka – will showcase three unique dinners, in three different settings. All three will be present at each venue, where they will contribute dishes that highlight their individual culinary style to a six-course sharing menu.
The dinners will kick off on Monday 23 May at The Ninth, where host Jun Tanaka will display his flair for French-Mediterranean cuisine with dishes including flamed mackerel with Jersey Royals, pickled kohlrabi and sea purslane. Ben Tish of Salt Yard will present his Spanish and Italian-accented creations, including pinchos of slow-cooked Dorset snail with pancetta, and roast saddle of rabbit. Classic French specialist Allan Pickett (chef-patron of Piquet) will contribute roast sea bass with yeasted cauliflower purée, romanesco and mushroom persillade, before Tanaka brings the meal to an end with tarte Tatin and rosemary ice cream.
The event will take place on two more occasions: on Monday 27 June at Salt Yard and on Monday 11 July at Piquet – and no two meals will be the same.
Starting at 6pm, each dinner is priced at £50 per person, with an additional £30 for wine pairings. To book, email email@example.com and state which meal you would like to attend.
