Next Tuesday, Boyds Brasserie Bar & Lounge will welcome legendary Bordeaux winemaker Lucien Guillemet – one of the most respected
producers in France – for an exclusive wine-tasting dinner that will showcase the very best wines from his prestigious estate, Château Boyd-Cantenac.
The evening will kick off with a Champagne and canapé reception, then guests will sit down to a delicious four-course menu specially prepared for the occasion by Boyds’ head chef Richard Lee.
Guillemet has selected two wines from his estate to match each of the savoury courses, plus a vintage port to accompany dessert. During the evening, the winemaker will explain why each wine is
perfectly matched to the flavours of the dishes.
The menu and wine pairings are as follows:
paired with a glass of Laurent Perrier Brut
Roast duck-breast salad with red-wine-poached pear, watercress and toasted Kent cobnuts
paired with 2009 Château Maucaillou and 2009 Château Tour Massac
Pan-fried fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted shallots and fine beans in a red-wine jus
paired with 2007 Jacques Boyd and 2007 Château Boyd-Cantenac
Selection of British farmhouse cheeses
paired with 2002 Château Boyd-Cantenac and 2002 Jacques Boyd
Dark-chocolate fondant with poached cherries and vanilla ice cream
paired with 1983 Royal Oporto port
This is a unique opportunity to sample a wide variety of premium pours from this great producer, and ask Guillemet questions about the wines.
