London may be teeming with Italian restaurants, but there’s certainly something satisfying about be able to make your own gnocchi, vitello tonnata or osso bucco. So why not learn from the best with
masterclasses at Michelin-starred Zafferano in Knightsbridge.
Held in the restaurant’s next-door deli, classes are limited to six people to ensure maximum interaction with Sardinian-born Paolo Saba, executive chef of the London Fine Dining Group (which owns
Zafferano). Each class focuses on a different style of cooking and teaches guests about ingredients as well as techniques. Classes cost £125 per person.

10 July – Fresh pasta production and basic techniques
Learn to make malfatti ripieni (gnocchi filled with spinach), ravioli of osso bucco and cappelletti with asparagus and burrata (fresh mozzarella).
22 August – Traditional meat dishes
Learn to make a traditional Italian roast, vitello tonnato and stuffed capon.
20 September – Antipasti dishes
Learn to dress up courgette and aubergine and try your hand at an octopus salad.
20 October – Fish dishes
Learn to make aragosta e carciofi (lobster fricassee with artichokes and herbs), calamari ripieni (stuffed calamari) and pescatrice al pepe (monkfish with peppercorn crust).
