The York Festival of Food and Drink has established itself as one of the most significant food festivals in the country. It runs for ten days, and incorporates chef demonstrations, tutored wine and
food tastings, a children’s day, an ale trail and a whisky festival.
This year's highlights include Frances Atkins of the Yorke Arms at Ramsgill in Nidderdale, who will prepare a seasonal mutton lunch in the medieval Bedern Hall, as well as food historian Peter
Brears, who will tell the story of jelly with illustrations and tastings in the newly restored Victorian ‘street’ of York’s famous Castle Museum.
