We booked a table for two at Thai Square in St. Anne's Court last Saturday night, based on the reviews & comments on Square Meal. What a waste of time. The service was sweet but very muddled. We ordered three drinks to start (a bottle of mineral water, 2 juices & 2 glasses of wine). All arrived separately & not one was correct (still not sparkling, apple not pineapple, large wine not small – you get the picture!). Drinks were changed straight away without any fuss, but we were left wondering “what did we do wrong?”. The food was a huge disappointment. The selection of mixed starters was bought-in, deep fried, bog standard stuff. The main courses arrived at the same time the starters were being cleared – which made us feel really rushed, and believe me, we're fast eaters! The rice & the broccoli were just on the lukewarm side of cold. The green chicken curry tasted like a ready meal. The chicken & cashew nut stir-fry was greasy. There was a queue at the door as we finished our main courses & we were asked twice in quick succession by different waiters if we wanted anything else. It just felt like they wanted the table back, even though we'd booked, and the whole thing lasted just under an hour from start to finish. Won't be going back!!
