Sitting at the heart of The Shepherd Mayfair, Fayre is the hotel’s modern all-day brasserie, offering a polished yet playful dining experience inspired by the historic Mayfair fair that once animated the neighbourhood. With 75 covers and a prime ground-floor position, Fayre sets the tone for the hotel’s food and drink offering with an atmosphere that feels both refined and warmly theatrical.
The design language echoes the hotel’s overarching approach to contemporary luxury, pairing dark timber panelling with a rich berry-toned palette drawn from mulberry and blueberry hues. Banquette seating anchors the room, while wall coverings by urban artist Adam Ellis inject colour, movement and narrative. His illustrations reinterpret scenes from the historic Mayfair fayre—livestock markets, makeshift theatres, jugglers, games of chance—bringing a sense of whimsy and storytelling to the brasserie’s walls.
This is very much in keeping with The Shepherd Mayfair’s design philosophy, which threads local reference through every element of the building. Led by Timothy Shepherd, the hotel draws its aesthetic from eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Mayfair mansions, balancing classical cues with contemporary detailing, bespoke joinery and a commitment to British craftsmanship. Fayre inherits this sensibility, offering diners a space that feels grounded in Mayfair’s past yet unmistakably modern in tone.
Open throughout the day, Fayre is conceived as a neighbourhood-minded destination: elegant enough for celebratory dinners, but relaxed enough for long lunches, solo plates or a spontaneous drop-in. Seasonal cooking takes centre stage—though menus are yet to be revealed, the brasserie’s culinary direction mirrors the hotel’s ethos of considered luxury, attention to detail and a deep connection to place.
With its evocative interiors, narrative-rich artwork and all-day appeal, Fayre promises to become a standout new dining room in Mayfair, offering guests and locals alike a fresh, design-led interpretation of the area’s storied history.
