Celebrate Christmas at The Shepherd Mayfair, a dsign-led, boutique hotel in the heart of Shepherd Market, with a Christmas party hosted across one of its three stunning spaces: Fayre, The Lounge or Teddy's Bar.
The hotel sits on one of Mayfair's oldest plots, home to 'The Cottage' dating back to 1618, where a shepherd once tended his flock on the fields that would go on to host the annual May Fair. That history runs through the building today, with the hotel named after Edward Shepherd, the architect and developer who transformed the area into the intimate urban quarter it remains.
For a seated Christmas dinner, Fayre is the hotel's signature restaurant, with 62 covers on the ground floor. The space offers banquette seating, dark timber panelling and a rich berry-toned palette inspired by mulberry and blueberry hues, while wall coverings by urban artist Adam Ellis bring theatrical scenes referencing the historic May Fair to life, from livestock markets to jugglers and games of chance. For something more relaxed, The Lounge is a café-style space with 46 covers and an outdoor terrace, well suited to daytime festive gatherings or lunches. For an evening drinks reception or late-night celebration, Teddy's Bar is a hidden late-night cocktail bar on the lower ground floor.
The menu is built around seasonal British produce and refined European classics, and could include snacks such as a lobster and prawn brioche roll or braised beef short rib croquette, starters like crispy duck confit salad or citrus-cured trout, and mains such as Gloucester Old Spot pork chop, beef Wellington pithivier or dry-aged steaks. Puddings by the Glass, the restaurant's signature dessert concept, sees classic puddings presented in a tall glass, such as a strawberry and Champagne trifle, Paris-Brest with pistachio mousseline cream, Baked Alaska with caramelised pear, hazelnut and honey, and blackberry Bakewell tart.
