Clapham, or as it was once known Clopp Ham, is a leafy area of south west London that has become a popular dwelling place for Aussies, celebrities and young professionals alike. It sits within the London Borough of Lambeth, and mustn't be confused with Clapham Junction, which can be found in the neighbouring area of Battersea.

Not only does Clapham boast London’s largest community of Australians, it has also been home to many notable celebrities over the years, including Ainsley Harriott, Jo Brand and none other than Miriam Margolyes. Clapham Common is one of London’s most beloved green spaces, sprawling across 220 acres and boasting three ponds, a Victorian bandstand and plenty of greenery. The area is also home to a number of gorgeous independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Or, if you’re looking to dance into the early hours, you can do just that at one of its nightclubs.

Finally, when it comes to booking dinner in Clapham, you definitely won’t be disappointed. Whether you’re after a quick bite to eat, some pub grub or a fine dining experience, there are so many eateries to choose from - you’re totally spoilt for choice.
