Best restaurants in Canary Wharf

Hawksmoor doesn't disappoint, and this Canary Wharf site is one of its best. Found on a floating pontoon, this double-height space comes complete with an outdoor deck, a downstairs bar and a menu packed with incredible seafood and steak. It's great every day of the week, but Sunday roasts are a favourite.

The go-to spot for humongous sharing platters, mountainous roast dinners, chops (naturally), steaks and the best meats the UK has to offer, Blacklock makes a reliable stop for satisfying lunches and post-work dinners. It also happens to be pretty affordable, and has recently introduced an off-menu Blacklock pie!

Whether you’re dining with friends or colleagues, Dishoom’s signature buzz makes the perfect backdrop to breaking bread and making merry. Feast on the food of Bombay’s famous Irani cafes, including classics like black dahl and chicken biryani along with fantastic breakfast naans and cocktails.

The Gun is one of very few old school pubs in the Canary Wharf area with its long wooden bar and red leather stools, and is renowned for serving some really high quality restaurant food too. We're talking Chateaubriand with café de Paris butter with views of the Thames.

Over the past few years, Gaucho has become one of the biggest steakhouse groups in London, but that doesn’t mean that their steak isn’t still amazing. This particular branch also has a beautiful al fresco dining section overlooking the river. For reliably good dining, this is a top pick.

Canary Wharf’s huge Big Easy is in an amazing location, sat on the park level of Crossrail Place looking out over the water, and serves big American style food. Think ribs, shrimp and lobster, washed down with frozen Margaritas. Bank this one for a more casual occasion. 

Importing an LA buzz to this little corner of East London, it feels like June brings with it pastel interiors and a clean, fresh menu. There’s lots to like and something for everyone, from the plant-based burgers to the banana splits. The interiors are worth a trip to the bar alone.

ROKA’s Canary Wharf branch serves high quality contemporary Japanese cuisine in a large, bamboo-covered restaurant. The menu is based around the robatayaki style cooking, where dishes such as lamb cutlets are cooked over hot coals. You'll also find a great selection of dumplings, rice, and tempura dishes.
