Updated on 30 April 2023

Canary Wharf hasn’t always been cool. In fact, just a decade ago we doubt you would have ventured east in search of some of London’s best restaurants. However, in the last few years this bustling district of the capital has proven its culinary worth, with a clutch of the best restaurants in Canary Wharf presenting mind-bendingly good menus, gorgeous interiors, and some incredible views to boot.

Because of the area’s industry, the obvious conclusion to jump to is this is just a place full of suits and city boys. While we can’t deny there is a considerable cohort of colleagues milling about at any one time, there are also those venturing to the area in search of some great shopping, families who have found a space to call home, and groups of friends keen to try out some cracking cookery.

There truly is something for everyone when it comes to the best restaurants in Canary Wharf. We love the cheap and cheerful surrounds of some of the area’s more casual restaurants that serve up street food-style tacos, burgers, and pizzas with aplomb. These make a great pitstop pre- or post-shopping trip or are a lovely place to kill a few hours come the weekend without having to break the bank (if you’ll pardon the pun).

Elsewhere, if you’re looking to really impress your other half, a few friends or even some colleagues and clients, there are plenty of beautiful, fine-dining restaurants that are worthy of big budgets and leisurely meals.

The Wood Wharf development which properly opened around 2022 brought a who new dynamism to Canary Wharf too. Here you’ll find some of London’s best-loved dining brands all moored up on floating pontoons, complete with outdoor, water-side terraces that make the perfect places to enjoy drinks and snacks some the warmer months.

Below you’ll find summaries of each of our top picks of places to eat in the area. Simply click on your short-listed ones to read the full reviews and book. Alternatively, if you’d like to see more options, you can look at our full list of every restaurant in Canary Wharf worth booking.
