Forget the hot barometer of Peruvian food, Michelin-starred Lima is one of the few restaurants in London making the unfamiliar utterly delicious. Start with an easy-drinking Pisco Sour plus some puffy pumpkin seed bread, but defer further choice to staff who know the baffling menu inside out. From crisp octopus tentacles on polenta-like maize and olive purée (a riot of purple) to blood-red potatoes set against sour, yellow dressing and artichokes, every dish is a picture in vibrant Technicolor. Elsewhere, sweet potato melded into corn purée is a veggie spin on ceviche, while the real thing is spiky, silky perfection involving dense-fleshed chunks of sea bass. Pressed suckling pig is a standout main (especially with a side of creamy sun-dried potato), while avocado cream and chocolate mousse is a knockout dessert. With its neat, grey-on-grey room recently revamped and extended, Lima is now a true destination – a “fun place with a fun atmosphere”.
LIMA, brings Peru straight into a small restaurant in Fitzrovia, complete with unique organic and wild produce from small growers based in Peru through to the beautiful striking presentations. The interior is not obviously glamorous but it is instead designed to be fun and comforting. In true South American style there are splashes of bright colour across the interior with contemporary seating and artwork on the walls.LIMA is a representation of the gastronomic expansion that has taken place in Peru during the last few years and has transported itself to the capital. As a result dining at LIMA is...

I am a huge Peruvian fan, and was excited to have seen and heard so much about Lima. The mastermind behind Lima is a world-renowned Peruvian chef, Virgilio Martinez. His first restaurant and flagship restaurant is in Lima, Peru. Lima has just been awarded 1 Michelin Star and I am not surprised at all.

One of the perks of having a weekday off is that you can take advantage of plethora of midweek lunch deals. Since me and my sister had the day off, we decided to treat ourselves to lunch at Lima, a michelin starred peruvian restaurant in Fitzrovia. Making the most of being on leave on a Friday, we promptly ordered some cocktails. We decided on a couple of Chimos, a delicious strawberry, bubbly concoction. The express menu was great value and with a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts, we selected one of each and shared. Complimentary bread was served with a yoghurt dip and we had salmon ceviche and butterfish...

My motto has always been ‘you only live once’ and not only should every celebration be important but you should elevate the every day. Be the most over-dressed person in the room, book those flights and order that second (or third or fourth) glass of champagne.Which is why I really liked the idea of Waterford’s Live.Love.Toast campaign which is all about celebrating every moment in life, making the most of our relationships and toasting those occasions along the way. Waterford have just launched their Live.Love.Toast website which features inspirational lifestyle, food and fashion ideas and encourages readers...
