Steak, quality red wine and a sleek city vibe make Goodman a proper institution in the Square Mile. It’s not old, though, and thanks to varied private dining menus, you’ve got options. The steak is top-notch, aged in-house and treated with proper care, while the timeless private dining space can host groups of up to 10 diners.

The original Gooman restaurant, this Mayfair classic offers a classic American steakhouse vibe. The private dining room follows suit. Simply furnished, with dark woods and black and white photos, it accommodates up to 28 guests (configurations are flexible). Menus draw on the kitchen’s best dishes, featuring top-shelf cuts dry-aged in-house.

Heliot Steak House at the Hippodrome Casino really does offer something completely unique. The two private dining rooms here were originally the Hippodrome Theatre managers’ offices over a century ago, and if you want something even more unusual, check out the huge rooftop - the largest outdoor terrace in central London.

As the flagship of the Gaucho group, Gaucho Piccadilly is an impressive location for a private dinner. This Argentinian steakhouse is perfect for steak-lovers, with sharing-style platters and canapes on offer. There's various private spaces to choose from, catering to both corporate events and social gatherings. 

This Sicilian steakhouse keeps things refreshingly old school, with quintessential Italian service and a focus on top class ingredients. The 16-seat private dining room is the perfect place to enjoy top-grade steak, all graded by marbling, softness and flavour, and served on hot stones. 

Boasting stunning panoramic views of the London skyline, Gaucho Tower Bridge is a beautiful choice for a private dinner. Reliable and accessible, Hard Rock Cafe is ideal if you’re planning something big and fun, whether it be a private birthday lunch or a full-blown gala dinner. You know exactly what you get with the Hard Rock Cafe menu - great value, comforting cooking - and the Piccadilly Circus site has a wealth of large and small private hire spaces to check out.

A sister site to the popular Brighton Coal Shed, The Coal Shed at One Tower Bridge has a cool, industrial aesthetic that makes it a versatile fit for all sorts of events. Throw in a catch-all menu of steaks, and a private dining room for up to 20 guests, and it’s no wonder it’s always so busy here.

Hawksmoor St Pancras is astounding, but it’s Sir Gilbert Scott’s Room that impresses most. Hosting up to 12 guests, and named for the building’s architect, you can choose from seasonal set menus packed with Hawksmoor classics. Anticipate premium grass-fed steaks, plus beef Wellington, beef dripping chips, sticky toffee and more, all served family style.

Sagardi serves a superb Basque menu but we can’t look past the exceptional steaks, which Sagardi sources from incredible, beefy ex-dairy cows, from small farms in the Basque Country. The 48-seat private dining room is great for bigger celebrations, and it’s completely soundproof so you can enjoy your event in total privacy.

Set within an old factory on a cobbled Barbican backstreet, Ibai collaborates directly with beef supplier Txuleta - one of the best suppliers in the game.
