Based on the Basque “txokos” (gastronomical societies), where locals come together to cook, experiment with new ways of cooking, eat and socialise, the private rooms at Sagardi are designed with a mixture of warmth and elegance in mind. Suitable for a range of private events from business breakfasts, to private dining, parties and seminars, this versatile space can be divided to seat 18 in each section or 30 when hired in its entirety. 

Description

Sagardi is a global chain of Basque restaurants that has been delighting diners for some time now. While the restaurant itself is a delight and an excellent place to enjoy the traditional Basque dishes on offer, private dining will give a more immersive culinary experience. Sagardi is well-equipped in this area, with a dedicated private dining room and multiple set menus for groups, each with a different theme.

The private dining room at Sagardi seats up to 18 and is a quiet, intimate space, perfect for focusing entirely on what’s on the plate and in the glass. The basement is larger, accommodating up to 52, and is equipped with an LCD projector and flexible partitions to mould the space to your exact requirements.

Head chef Iñaki López de Viñaspre has crafted a selection of themed group menus perfectly suited to private and group dining. The pared-back ‘Butchers’ menu includes meaty starters such as croquettes and pate, before moving to larger plates like steak, house potato wedges and a selection of popular mini desserts to finish.

The more elaborate ‘Land & Sea’ menu features a broad range of traditional Basque dishes such as Galician octopus and red tuna tartar to start, fresh fish of the day with lettuce and spring onions, steak, house wedges and roasted piquillo peppers, with mini desserts as well. Various add-ons to the group menus are also available, including a cheese course featuring the fines Basque cheeses, cake and cava for special occasions or tea and coffee.

Sagardi can also be hired in its entirety for larger events. The restaurant is well-equipped to host receptions and similar gatherings, with a separate canape menu featuring miniature versions of Sagardi’s signature dishes. These tasty treats include the likes of a mini ox burger, grilled morcilla from Biscay, Guetaria anchovies on sourdough and many more.
