Vagabond, one of London's coolest wine brands, isn't known for doing things by halves. With over 100 wines available by the glass, it's already known as one of the most impressive offerings in the city, but its new Carnaby opening is the wine bar group's most ambitious yet - as well as, one of the most distinctive venue hire spaces in Soho. Spread across two floors, this 200-capacity venue combines the playful spirit of wine discovery with a design that celebrates winemaking at every turn.
Forget generic event spaces. Here, guests are welcomed into a series of beautifully crafted rooms where a bar is shaped from the cooperage of a wine barrel, traditional riddling racks line the staircase and a dramatic lightwell draws visitors through the building. Hidden among it all is a private tasting room wrapped in steel winery tanks, bringing a little piece of the vineyard to the West End.
At the centre of the experience are Vagabond's famous self-pour wine machines, offering more than 120 wines by the glass. Guests are free to sample, compare and discover at their own pace, making the venue particularly well suited to networking events, client entertaining, product launches and celebrations where conversation flows as easily as the wine.
The venue's flexible layout means it can accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to full-scale takeovers. Exclusive hire offers access to the entire 200-capacity space, including a private tasting room, tasting table and outdoor area. Downstairs, a dedicated bar and adaptable seating create a versatile setting for larger events, whether that's a brand activation, company social or lively drinks reception.
For smaller gatherings, there are several distinct spaces to choose from. The Right Wing accommodates up to 90 guests and combines a mixture of high and low seating close to the wine machines. The Cork Room provides a more secluded setting for up to 40 standing guests, while The Atrium offers a street-level space with banquette seating and front-row views of Carnaby's ever-busy streets.
Food comes in the form of seasonal small plates designed for sharing and grazing between glasses, with dishes such as Iberico croquetas with crispy Serrano and chipotle, pork belly with rhubarb and apple jus, roasted cauliflower with harissa, and aubergine parmigiana.
