The well-regarded Oxford Wine Company has taken over what was the Summertown Wine Café and is set to re-launch it as part of its own stable. The place will be run along broadly similar lines as before, with a knowledgeable oenophile team on hand to advise and manage the 100-strong list of wines from around the globe. Bottles will be available to take home, in addition to house selections and a special ‘boutique’ range served in Riedel glassware to go with an all-day menu of tapas-style dishes. Fine teas and coffees will also be available, and there are plans to hold regular wine tastings hosted by MWs, winemakers and journalists too.
