The outpost of Fortnum and Mason at St Pancras allows visitors from across the water to get a taste for proper British fare without having to travel more than 100 yards from their international seats. There’s more to offer than just Afternoon Tea too – diners can tuck in to the likes of crumpets, porridge or eggs benedict at breakfast, Welsh rarebit or fish pie for lunch or supper, or simply have a plate of classic smoked fish, cheese or charcuterie. And these days, the management doesn’t insist that to experience it you should be travelling first class – in fact, it doesn't insist that you travel at all.
