Hawksmoor St Pancras is the group's eighth London site, taking up residence in the stunning, Grade I Listed dining room at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.
The successful steak group has a knack of finding magnificent locations for its restaurants, but this might just be the most impressive yet. Originally designed by celebrated British architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, the Gothic Revival masterpiece is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the capital. The soaring ceilings feature metre upon metre of decorative plasterwork, whilst magnificent art deco chandeliers bathe the room in a warm glow. Ornate cornices meet huge marble columns, and at the far end, a jewel-box bar is the room's focal point. The banquettes are signature Hawksmoor green, counterpointed by tobacco brown leather booths and Deco-tinged table lamps.
One of the UK's great restaurant success stories of the last few decades, Hawksmoor is built on a rock solid foundation of steadfast sourcing, aged, grass-fed beef, and comforting British cookery, rooted in classics. Expect more of the same outstanding steak cookery, including large sharing cuts, alongside Hawksmoor signatures like Old spot belly ribs, beef dripping chips, and the beloved Hawksmoor sticky toffee pudding. These days there's plenty more to explore on the menu too, from beef dripping hash browns with creme fraiche and Exmoor caviar, to Yorkshire Sloppy Joes, where Yorkshire puddings are filled with rich mince and horseradish.
These days Hawksmoor also serves very reasonable set menus, and a popular Sunday roast with slow-roast beef rump alongside beef dripping roast potatoes and all the trimmings.
The cocktail programme is also much-celebrated, and Hawksmoor has also taken over the bar next door - previously called The Gothic Bar, and now called The Martini Bar.
For those who wish to enjoy a drink outdoors, guests can venture out to The Hawksmoor Martini Terrace - the group's first-ever outdoor terrace - serving a line-up of signature Martini cocktails in partnership with GREY GOOSE. Located just outside the restaurant, the 30-seat terrace has been designed as a natural extension of the Hawksmoor brand, boasting rich textures and deep tones reflective of the Victorian Gothic aesthetic inside. Keep an eye out for cocktails such as the GREY GOOSE Martini, and Hawksmoor’s own Steakhouse Martini cocktail.
