On paper, Port Isaac is a small fishing village on the Cornish coast, but in reality, this seemingly sleepy village has plenty of character. The popularity of Port Isaac is in no small part thanks to the area acting as the setting for the fictional village of Portwenn in the much-loved ITV show Doc Martin, which used the area as a filming location throughout its nine series. Port Isaac has plenty going for it aside from television fame though, including more than 300 gorgeous beaches and a very exciting restaurant scene.

Restaurants in Port Isaac certainly make use of Cornwall’s natural larder, championing fresh fish and seafood, plus locally farmed meats. While you can definitely find your fair share of big budget restaurants here (including a Michelin star or two), top quality produce doesn’t always mean having to break the bank, as evidenced by Port Isaac’s clutch of casual and affordable restaurants.
