Re-opening Wednesday 15th July
What’s not to love about the OXO Tower Bar at Harvey Nichols’ towering success on the river? Here you’ll find plausible cocktails, beef kimchi sliders, vegetable dim sum with ponzu, and grilled squid with a chilli rouille (£8.50). But the clincher is the postcard-perfect panorama of tourist London (including St Paul’s), seen across the water from the eighth-floor vantage point. Tables can be booked, with seating on curvaceous cream armchairs, but some places are saved for walk-ins until capacity is reached. The drawbacks? Well, 11pm on weekdays and midnight at weekends are ridiculously early closing times. We want to enjoy cherry Manhattans like they do in Manhattan, at an hour when others are fast asleep; and to have the option of ordering Dusk ’til Dawn (Ilegal mezcal, Cocchi, Punt e Mes vermouth and Lagavulin 16 whisky) from dusk to dawn.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, OXO has interviewed some of the amazing women who are instrumental in the running of OXO Bar, Brasserie and Restaurant. One such is Nadezda, who worked her way up from Receptionist to Front of House in the nine years she's worked at OXO. As the first face guests see, Nadezda is always warm, friendly and professional. Her advice to women looking to start a career in hospitality is to 'always believe in yourself'.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, OXO has interviewed some of its female employees, all of whom are instrumental in the running of OXO Bar, Brasserie and Restaurant. Ahouha is one of OXO's longest serving kitchen porters and the only woman in the role making her a very highly-regarded member of the team. Her energy is infectious and her willingness to give anyone a helping hand is truly commendable, as is her outlook; "life is tough, but you must fight to insert yourself somewhere and make yourself known, don’t say no and always try to further yourself", she says with a smile.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, OXO has interviewed a few of its female employees, all of whom are instrumental in the running of the OXO empire. Fatima has worked two separate jobs in the OXO kitchen for almost four years and cares for her father in the small amounts of spare time left over. In spite of this juggling act, she is warm-hearted and much-loved member of the team.
