Would you eat a stack of haggis pancakes?

In recent years, national days have become a little oversaturated in London (National Strawberry Daiquiri Day anyone?). One of the OG national days though is Shrove Tuesday, more commonly known as Pancake Day.

Every year, London restaurants flip out with evermore insane pancake creations, including pancake cocktails and even pancakes topped with tampon macarons (yes, really). The latest one to be tossed onto the pile? A ginormous stack of haggis pancakes.

Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild (which boasts locations in both the City and Fitzrovia) will be celebrating its roots this Pancake Day, with a taste of the Highlands. Guests will be able to have a flippin’ good time chowing down on an almighty stack of haggis pancakes.

Christened the ‘Ben Haggis’, the dish sees a 16-layer tower of butter pancakes covered with creamy haggis mac ‘n’ cheese, along with Red Jon sauce and crispy shallots, as well as a warm haggis crumb, fresh jalapeño chilli and deep-fried haggis pops.

The 8 Stack Mac in all its glory

If, by some miracle, you’re still feeling peckish at the end of that feast, Mac & Wild is also offering pancakes for dessert. The monstrous 8 Mac Stack consists of eight fluffy pancakes topped with a deep-fried Mars Bar (a Scottish delicacy, don’t ya know) and dripping with a whisky caramel sauce, and a peanut butter drizzle.

We think we’ve just died and gone to pancake heaven.

If you want more to try more than one restaurant’s creation this Pancake Day, you can stack up your options with our pick of where to enjoy pancakes in London.
