Madhu’s at The Grove is a restaurant that brings the flavours and hospitality of New Delhi to the heart of the mansion. The restaurant is part of the long-established Madhu’s group, a family-run business with more than four decades of culinary heritage. Founded by brothers Sanjay and Sanjeev Anand in honour of their father Jagdish Kumar Anand, the brand grew from roots in Nairobi and is now renowned internationally for its Punjabi cuisine and exceptional banqueting. Over the years Madhu’s has catered events for prime ministers, members of the Royal Family and major international occasions, becoming the first Asian caterer to serve at venues including Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.
At The Grove, Madhu’s showcases that legacy through both à la carte dining and a tasting menu that explores classic Indian flavours with refinement. The tasting menu, for example, begins with poppadoms, chutneys and an avocado and mango chutney dish before moving into seafood courses such as cumin-spiced scallops, chilli and garlic prawns and tandoori salmon served with fresh kuchumber salad. Next come grilled favourites including chicken tikka, seekh kebab and a robata-grilled lamb chop with mint yoghurt and pickled salad.
After a passion fruit sorbet palate cleanser, the centrepiece arrives in the form of Madhu’s Royal Thali - a collection of dishes including dal makhni, murgh makhni, saag gosht and baingan bhartha with rice and mini naan. The meal finishes with a dessert trio pairing Ladurée’s chocolate-hazelnut creation with carrot halwa and almond kulfi.
Alongside dinner, the restaurant also offers “High Chai”, an afternoon tea that blends British tradition with Indian spices, transforming classic sandwiches and pastries into something entirely new. To start, the amuse bouche looks like fresh mango, with pomegranate, chilli, and peppers with cream cheese on a crispy crostini toast, and for sandwiches you can expect the likes of a Bombay sandwich which spiced potatoes, tangy mint chutney, cabbage, carrot with melted cheese in a toasted sandwich. Of course, there's also freshly baked scones and sweet treats, served with a glass of champagne if you so wish!
