Set within 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove offers an extensive collection of private dining spaces catering to all occasions, from intimate suppers and corporate dining to milestone celebrations. Located just outside Watford, easily reached from Luton and Heathrow, it’s well accustomed to hosting VIPs (from celebrities to NATO), so private dining at The Grove comes with genuine pedigree.
Inside the original 18th century mansion, sit the Donneraile and Garden Room, both of which offer elegant settings for up to 28 to 30 seated guests. With a central table as the focus, the Donneraile features ornate white cornicing, soaring ceilings and chandeliers with dimmable lighting. Next door, the Garden Room offers a more colourful scheme, with decorative green wallpaper and glass doors which open directly onto a terrace overlooking the golf course.
For larger events that demand a sense of drama, the Potting Shed – complete with views over the Walled Garden – accommodates up to 72 guests for lunch or dinner, or 60 for a seated buffet or dinner dance. Filled with plants and flooded with natural light, it’s made up of four interlinking rooms and boasts its own gated entrance. If you’re looking for private dining in Hertfordshire with a palpable sense of occasion, this is it.
For corporate private dining, meanwhile, The Grove comes armed with the Silk and Ochre rooms. For smaller groups, of 30 and 40 respectively, they can operate independently, while larger group dinners see the spaces combine to host 48. There are many more spaces besides, from the 12-seater small meeting rooms to the Cinnamon room, which offers a lighter and more open feel for up to 100 dinner guests.
As for The Grove’s private dining menus, the team is more than happy to tailor dishes to your event, drawing on the hotel’s varied restaurant offerings. High-end catering stretches from British classics and South Asian cooking to Turkish dishes from Skewd and lighter plates and sushi in the Lounges, always prepared and delivered with finesse.
