Nestled within 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove is one of England's most celebrated country house hotels, and this spring it's offering a rather glamorous new reason to visit. The Charlotte Tilbury Afternoon Tea brings a beauty-inspired twist to one of Britain's most cherished traditions, served in the hotel's elegant Lounges with sweeping views across the immaculately kept Formal Gardens.
Overlooking the Formal Gardens, The Lounges stand as a series of spaces rather than a single tea room, offering varied styles and cosy areas to enjoy afternoon tea. Expect high ceilings, comfortable seating, and large windows which create a bright yet intimate setting to linger over dinky savouries and sweet treats.
Executive pastry chef Ryan Thompson has taken inspiration from Charlotte Tilbury's iconic colours and products to craft a collection of playful, beautifully considered sweets and cakes alongside the classic savoury elements of a traditional afternoon tea.
On the savoury side, expect finely prepared sandwiches including slow-cooked Herefordshire beef and Severn & Wye smoked salmon, alongside traditional scones and a redberry and rose variation that brings a fragrant, seasonal touch. The sweet tier offers beauty-inspired creations named after Charlotte Tilbury icons: Pillow Talk pudding, Berry Blush sponge, A Slice of Magic and Collagen Kiss.
A wide selection of teas accompanies the menu throughout, with the option to add Champagne for those who feel the occasion calls for it. Guests also leave with a curated selection of Charlotte Tilbury skincare treats, and a visit to the brand's pop-up shop on site rounds off the experience nicely.
Available Wednesday to Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, the Charlotte Tilbury Afternoon Tea at The Grove is a seasonal treat well worth making the journey for.
