Slap bang in the middle of Fitzrovia, Lore of the Land combines the best of the old with the best of the new in this traditional pub setting. With three floors in the building, there’s plenty of space to enjoy everything from the convivial pub space, to dining areas where you can tuck into delicious food, and a more secluded floor with private dining for when you want to escape the crowds. The interior is a combination of wooden features and rich, dark colours bringing a warm and cosy atmosphere, which is only improved by the comforting food served here.
The food is freshly prepared each day using the best ingredients available, with much of the cooking being done over fire. This globe trotting menu combines a combination of classic dishes with flavours from further afield - think chicken liver parfait with brioche and sour pear, alongside things such as coal roasted cauliflower with tahini, green peppercorn and currant dressing, and mint. Desserts are an equally tempting selection of treats with the signature Lore doughnut with salted caramel, fresh cream and caramelised white chocolate taking centre stage. Food is available every evening and all day on Sunday, and if you’re looking to book the private dining area, then there is a separate group menu available with nibbles, 3 courses and sides.
Beyond the food you’ll find a carefully curated drinks list, including some beers showcased from Gritchie Brewing Company, a brewery located at Ashgrove Farm on the Wiltshire/Dorset border. Other than this there’s a number of boutique spirits and wines from across the globe to choose from.
Lore of the Land provides a space for a number of occasions, from a midweek catch up with friends to a family gathering over Sunday roast, and promises to create a memorable backdrop for them all.
