Award-winning pastry chef Angelo Musa brings his delicate masterpieces to Harrods, moving into a chic patisserie in the Knightsbridge superstore that showcases the art of pastry.
Musa follows in the footsteps of Cedric Grolet - another renowned French pastry chef - who recently crossed the Channel and opened an outpost at the Berkeley. Harrods has begun a high-profile shake up of its food and drink offerings with many famous, international chefs featuring, so it's no surprise that multi-award winning Musa is in the mix at the world famous department store. His career achievements include the Meilleur Ouvrier de France and World Pastry Champion.
Harrods director of restaurants and kitchens, Ashley Saxton, has described Musa as 'a true visionary in the culinary world' so it's safe to say that London is in for a treat, and a delicious one at that.
On the fourth floor, you will find a patisserie thats all about elegance and technique; there will be a selection of Musa's classic offerings as well as some exciting new recipes. A highlight of the menu is certainly Musa's signature 100% vanilla - four layers of sponge, crousillant duja, cremeux and mousse - utterly indulgent. For something that seems too picture-perfect to eat, try the new and enticing papilio (meaning butterfly in French), it includes an almond croustillant, chocolate sponge cake, exotic fruit caramel and a dark chocolate cremeux and mousse. Decadent, textured and perfectly rich; just don't forget to take a photo beforeheand.
Other options include mini tartlets and puff pastries filled with light creams as well as the equally divine savoury menu. Whether you opt for the vegetarian croque foret with mushroom, Parmesan, gruyere, egg and black truffle or the poached lobster brioche roll with a light lemon and dill mayonnaise; you're sure to be impressed by Musa's expertly crafted flavours and textures.
