SquareMeal Review of Strada Barnes

Strada’s pizza bases pass the thin & crispy test. The toppings are fresh, the flavours authentic & the price is right – such things matter to the foodies who will eat here, but won’t consider other high-street chains. However, superior wood-fired pizzas aren’t all Strada has going for it: readers also praise ‘accommodating’ service that achieves a fine balance between ‘unhurried & speedy’, plus clean, contemporary surrounds that are appealing enough for business or pleasure. There are clearly some serious Italophiles making the decisions at Strada, & this filters through to menus that embrace less-predictable options of stuffed & breaded olive ascolana, Sardinian fregola & clam soup, black tagliolini with crab, & nougat semifreddo ‘affogato’. Italian wines, with lots around a fiver a glass, are a bonus.

Four teenagers and two adults joined together to catch up on everyone's latest news amd as ex Barnes residents but still visiting the area we chose Strada and at the same time used the voucher I had been given. The restaurant wasn't massively busy but the service was attentive and all the food ordered a variety of pizzas, risotto's etc were beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. For a chain, I thought it was excellent and an added bonus for us to be able to use the voucher. Branches of chains can vary but would highly recommend this branch.

Big improvements in staffing, cleanliness and food recently. Generally quite good now, as Pizza restaurants go.
