Le Truc is a independent French Bistro hidden in Birmingham's vibrant Southside area. Everyday there is a freshly prepared 2 course menu £12.50 at lunch time & £13.95 early evening. They also serve an array of bistro delights, from sandwiches and salads to there stunning a la carte menu. I love sitting out on their sun terrace eating a big plate of mussels (with the best baguette I have ever tasted) & gulping down a glass of their magnificent picpoul. If you are not peckish try one of their cocktails, the bar staff tell me they make all the syrups & purees for the drinks onsite. They can do all the standard cocktails, I personally love a martini & these guys make it properly, but a quick glance in their cocktail book lets you know that these guys have some original treats up their sleeve – try their poppycock (just saying). The venue itself is really quirky, with art installations & graffiti on the walls you instantly feel like you have been transported to a back street in Paris or Marseillaise. They have quite a large sun terrace around the back where which is really warm but they provide shade and sun cream. The staff here are really friendly, you will here them singing as they serve customers, & i love that they do not wear uniform it makes the place feel really original and cool. Definite must go, I promise like me you will go once and be hooked
