K-10 2013

SquareMeal Review of K10

A follow-up to K-10’s original kaiten joint on Copthall Avenue, this outlet goes about its business close to the hub of Broadgate. The new site is larger than the original, with clean, wood-dominant decor and an extended menu – although the emphasis remains on colour-coded plates of spanking-fresh sushi from the conveyor belt (made with the help of a state-of-the-art £30,000 sushi-rice machine). It’s refreshing to see modern takes on the classics (seared beef with taro or salmon with sesame seed and sweet potato, for example), while hot-dish highlights have included “light as a feather” prawn tempura, chicken karaage and miso lamb cutlets (“out of this world”). The kitchen will also prepare anything you fancy (within reason), and there’s a ‘try before you buy’ policy for cautious types. Takeaways and local deliveries keep the City workers happy.

We were so pleased to have discovered this great new restaurant and from the moment we went through the door we were delighted at every stage of the meal. Staff are friendly knowledgable and so happy to please and then the food, the sushi and fusion type dishes on the coneyor belt were all so fresh and tempting that before long we had a pile of coloured plates, each dish fresh and some amazing tastes, the we were persuaded to try the Black Cod which was out of this world and the miso lamb cutlets melted in the mouth… tempura as light as a feather and everything cooked to order so the freshness was such a treat . iced water on tap and when we could eat no more the tempting little desserts strated appearing on the conveyor, we resisted but cant wait to go back. So good we took takeaway for our friend who could not join us! Great place we will be back…soon!
